Chapter 2: Full mind, Empty heart

The morning drew across the sky. The 3 suns burned down in the morning as the party found themselves standing around and trying to figure out who the party's leader should be. The debate got rather loud into the early hours of the morning. At the entrance of Dawnburgh, a woman entered the gate with a backpack strapped to her back and a hood shrouded over her face. She had a short sword on her hip and a large bow on her back. She steps into the dawn. As her white mask reflected some light she looked around. Rather tired from her early morning walk she headed to a tavern. The loud debate of a random group of people drew her in to listening in to the conversation. She quickly interjected. And the party noticing her odd mask drew her into a quick conversation. They quickly agreed to have a drink with each other after noon. And so they separated. The party went their way, and this woman Rhen Amiitari made her way to do some errands.

After a few hours of Rhen messing around with the local children, and the party’s journey around town from shop to shop, one shop caught their eye. A man now setting up a new magical shop, Gabriel’s gold guild, A golden purple magical paint wrapped around the shop. And with a quick conversation and some items traded they walked away with a few new tools, they walked away with gabriel’s friend ship. And Gabriel’s interest in malcolm. On the other side of town we find Rhen taking a moment for herself. With a large bread in hand and laying down in the local park she took in the silence. She brought out her mother's pendant as she looked at it. Slowly resting it on her chest as she took a deep breath. Barely lifting her mask she consumed the bread and headed to the tavern to meet back up with the party. With a quick conversation at the tavern. Malcolm brought out a stack of Missing people posters. And wanted the party to push this quest. As they began to discuss. A man entered the tavern. A long robe as he stood at the entrance sanning the area. In his curiosity he walked over to the party and quickly asked to join the party with a quick amount of decisions. They moved to add Rhen and this new man named Karasu Kin-kun also known as Kin. They had a general agreement and as the night began to fall they felt the ground shake.

The ground trembles as an army of 120,000 strides onwards as a whole. Thousands of feet, all moving as individuals, the vibrations in the ground will make sure even the deaf know this army is coming.

Up close it's the rustling of chainmail and leather which overpowers all other sounds. The thumping steps of the armored giants can be heard only faintly and the growls of the war tigers are all but drowned out completely.

Not a word is spoken among the soldiers, some are simply too exhausted from the long march, others are still focused on the inevitable battle. The army is a mismatch of isolated groups, but they'll work together as they share the same goal: Destroy the enemy and consume.

The front is lead by eager footsoldiers armed with swords and large shields. They're followed by footsoldiers armed with huge maces and axes, who in turn are followed by elite footsoldiers armed with long sword and huge shield.

The ranks are filled with many other regiments, including mercenaries and slave soldiers, including several cavalry units, many elite units, several defensive units and various flanking units. In the center of this undead army is an orc whose eyes glow a soft red color.

The bar keeper quickly put out all the lights and asked the party for help in baring the door. They peeked through each crack in the door and windows. Kin fell over a nearby table as he got scared by a Giant that stepped near the door. With the sound of a crashing body on the ground. The army came to a stop. As the orc got off the undead horse. And wandered over to the door. Pushing on it the door barely moved. Reached for the unlocked window. Catho quickly hopped up to hook the window before the orc did anything. With a quick pause and rattle of the window the Orc shifted back to his army and headed to the south east.

With some insight Malcom’s heart dropped. He quickly realized that the army is pushing towards Frayford. They knew they would outpace the army by taking the mountain pass. And so they agreed to take a pass early the next day.

With a quick conversation with the tavern keeper they arranged to change their time from one week free to 2 rooms free for the night.

The party separated the men and women in two different rooms. Ren sat outside of the room on the first watch. On 2nd watch was Malcom… as he sat outside Gabriel walked up with 2 glasses in his hand and a bottle in the other. With a quick conversation and a bottle one wine down. Gabriel left and walked away. With a look back at Malcolm with a smile.

Malcolm got up and went to check on the girl’s before  the next watch. As he peeked in he only woke up Rhen still in her mask as she slept. A quick conversation and an awkward exit. Latter left Catho on the last watch. And they move to make way to Fray ford at morning light .
